Turn your Camera Wireless (WiFi enable) with Eye-Fi Card

We have seen them successfully turned laptop and hand held phone wireless, now it’s time for digital cameras.
Eye-Fi card, bringing you the first digital camera’s wireless card. This unusual SD card looks, store media and fits into cameras just like any regular SD/SDHC memory cards but with enhance Wi-Fi capability that makes it possible to transfers photos and videos to your home PC or social network using wireless technology.

How it works? The SD card itself is wrapped with an internal antenna or wireless transmitter. But as you see, the internal antenna is definitely compact and buried within the card itself and in your camera. I somewhat doubt it’s Wi-Fi receptive range. However, it is still an innovative approach.
In the box, you get a 2GB SD Card, an SD Card reader for your PC, and a short instruction booklet.
To set up, first you need to insert the card into its included SD card reader to your computer and wait for connections to establish.
It then loads up Eye.Fi website where you create an account. This account manages all of your Eye-Fi settings from preferred storage location in your PC to online social networks. Select your internet connection and your WEP/WPA key.
Choose from 17 online photo sharing networks like Flickr, Picasa Web Albums, Webshots, Fotki, Photobucket, Facebook, SmugMug, Vox, Gallery 2, Walmart, Snapfish, Sharpcast, dotPhoto, Shutterfly, Phanfare, TypePad and Kodak Gallery. (You can have the card upload to your PC, a sharing site, or both.)
Be advice to not format the card when first use as application is packages inside the card. If you have already do so, be at ease as you can always download the software again from the Eye-Fi website. And be sure to check for camera compatibility at the link below.
