How to Secure and Hide your Private Folder

PC usage and file management is private to everyone but unfortunately some  computer are use by multiuser, risking people prying into your private safe files or documents.

How to safeguard those private folder that keeps private files. Actually there’s alot of option in doing that some by creating Users and saving it in your desktop, buying folder lock programs and so on….

It’s also norm for people to opt for easy steps to make the folder hidden. It’s by right clicking the folder and selecting the hidden option. But in this case your personal folder will be easily detected by selecting “show hidden file” option in control panel ->folder options.

I am going to show a easy method to really make it disappear, safe guard your personal folder and to avoid detection of course..

Just follow the steps below:

• Right clicking your private folder and select the properties option
• Go to customize tab and select change icon button.

• Now you can select a no image icon for your folder.

• Your folder image will now disappear with the name of your folder still intact

• Now we have to make it disappear as well
• Go to Start button and select ->All Programs
• Find the System Tool folder in Accessories

• Select character map and browse for a blank image character

• Press select in character to copy than the copy button
• Rename your folder and paste the blank character

Now you have make your folder fully disappear. To view it just press the refresh option and your hidden folder will blink, scroll your mouse to the folder to select it. To make it more harder to detect just go to the folder properties and select the hidden option.

Note that for Window XP  you can access special character or symbol by pressing Ctrl+ (1-255)
