How to Recover Deleted Files – Using Free Software

What if you have accidentally deleted an important file and have emptied your recycle bin. Or maybe you want to recover back a long lost deleted file or files. Well, this happened to me now and then. Not to worry as deleted files are normally still in your hard disk, you just need tools to recover it.

Pandora Recovery 2.1.1 is a nice freeware which will help in this task. It allows you to find and recover deleted files from your NTFS and FAT-formatted volumes, regardless of their type – you can recover pictures, songs, movies,documents..etc. It can even recover files that have been deleted months before you install Pandora Recovery itself.

It will first scan your hard drive and build an index of existing and deleted files on any logical drive of your computer. Once scanning is completed, you have full control over which files to recover and what destination to recover them to.

You can use the search option as well for browsing specific deleted files, if you remember one of the following file information:

• full or partial file name,
• file size,
• file creation date, or
• file last accessed date

The user interface is very friendly with its program wizard that will guide you throughout the recovery process.

It has an option to preview deleted files with supported image file types (BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, ICO,TIF, TGA, PCX, WBMP, WMF, JP2, J2K, JBG, JPC, PGX, PNM, RAS, CUR) and several text file types (TXT, LOG, INI, BAT, RTF, XML, CSS).
