How to Password Protect and Encrypt a File in USB Drive

What is encryption and how secure it is? It is actually a process where all the data will be changed into a form that can be only recognize by the intended receiver. To decipher or unlock the changed form, the intended receiver must provide a decryption key or a password.
Encrypting with AES 256 bits encryption provide better strengths and significantly higher security as it increase the complexity of the cipher algorithm giving you a worry free solution.
USB Safeguard is a portable software where no installation is required, just copy the program to your USB drive and run it. You will need to enter a password at first run and option to save the password to your computer to prevent from forgetting it.
To encrypt a chosen file with a password just drag the file to USB Safeguard and select encrypt. Once encryption is successful it will give you another option to wipe the left over data to prevent unauthorized data recovery by some knowledgeable computer geek. This even heightens the security of this nice freeware.
To recover password protected files just open USB Safeguard with the correct password and choose decrypt. And you’re done.
Please take note that USB Safeguard only can encrypt data up to 2GB and support Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 with at least 128M Ram.
